    Economic Stimulus Package

    February 18, 2009
The Stimulus Package (SP) provides many opportunities for obtaining new research resources. The Office of Research Affairs (ORA) stands ready to assist you in submitting proposals; modifying and re-submitting earlier proposals that may now be more favorably received; and requesting supplements to existing awards. View complete UCSD notice.

Template language is available to help highlight how your proposal responds to the goals of the stimulus package. Some agencies may be working on a very short timescale, so please monitor agency web pages and contact your program officer(s) for further information. As you communicate with agency program officers, we would appreciate it if you would pass any information along to GRR Director Barbara Perry (bperry@ucsd.edu).

Effective January 5, 2009, NSF proposals that request funding to support postdoctoral scholars must include, as a separate section within the 15-page project description, a description of the mentoring activities that will be provided to the postdoctoral scholar. Proposals that do not include this separate section on mentoring within the Project Description will be returned without further review.

In addition to mentoring activities that already take place in individual laboratories, there are resources available to assist PIs in fulfilling this new requirement that may be viewed at the following
