About the CWO

woman on computerThe purpose of the Campus Web Office is to integrate UC San Diego Web content so campus information is more accessible to end users.

The campus does this through offering a centralized content management system, templates that reflect campus branding, and services to help UCSD departments and organizations get the most out of these tools.

Two methods of providing a consistent user experience are:

  • adopting a common look and feel
  • implementing navigation stadards across a Web space.

The goal of the Campus Web Office (CWO) is to promote this consistency in order to reduce the institutional knowledge users need to navigate the UCSD Web environment.

Governance

The CWO is a virtual organization made up of individuals across UC San Diego. The CWO is governed by the Campus Website Steering Commitee (CWSC). The charge for the CWSC is as follows:

  • Approve proposals initiated by subordinate working groups and/or constituents of the campus.
  • Approve policies & guidelines governing the core campus Web site
  • Promote the CWO objectives to staff in their respective areas.

The CWSC is made up of the following members for 08/09 and meets every other month.
