WVB: No. 4 UC San Diego Sweeps Cal State Stanislaus; Career Win No. 100 For Black

The 4th-ranked UC San Diego women's volleyball team earned head coach Tom Black career win No. 100 in a 25-14, 25-16, 25-20 win over Cal State Stanislaus on Saturday night in RIMAC Arena. Through two sets, the Tritons were contending to beat the conference record for team hitting percentage, hitting at a blistering .456 clip through two sets. The Tritons finished the match hitting at a .356 efficiency, just off their high set the previous night. Sylvia Schmidt led the Tritons with 14 kills on .323 hitting. With the win, UCSD improves to 14-1, 6-1 California Collegiate Athletic Association, while the Warriors drop to 6-8, 0-6 CCAA. || CONTINUE

XC: UCSD’s Women Finish Sixth, Men Eighth At USI Pre-National Invite

The UC San Diego cross country teams were back in action Saturday morning, competing against elite fields at the University of Southern Indiana Pre-National Invitational. The Tritons finished sixth out of nine teams in the 6k women's race, while the men took eighth out of 11 squads in their 8k event at the USI Cross Country Course. Jeremy Riley was UCSD's top individual finisher on the men's side, placing 24th overall with a time of 26:52.43 on the course that will serve as the site of the NCAA Division II National Championships and Elena Inouye led the way for the women, finishing 17th with her time of 23:28.36. || CONTINUE
