Create a Facebook app to help alumni connect with each other
It would be cool to have a Facebook app that would allow UCSD alumni to connect with each other more easily on FB and learn about what their peers are up to.

A UCSD alumni blog with guest posts from alumni
UCSD Alumni association shoudl definitely have a blog that they can use to communicate with their members. Comments from alumni can be valuable input. There can also be a weekly guest post from prominent and up-and-coming alumni to help raise awareness and improve the strength of the network.

let students shadow me at work
some students are unsure of what careers they want to pursue. If we could implement a "Bring your Student to work" day, ucsd students could see what their dream jobs are like day-to-day.

host weekly (monthly) happy hours for alumni
happy hours can be local and a time for alumni to unwind, talk about their jobs, network, get to know each other and just have a good time

Better Profile Management On Alumni Site started
I just tried to update my profile on the alumni site under the staying connected tab. Some of it works, some of it didn't, some of it kind of did, and other pieces of it I wasn't even able to access. Built by UCSD application
Show an index of cool products and technologies done by UCSD grads. Show the original idea, work product in the classroom, the company, an what the person is doing.

Running club like Team In Training
There are various running groups and clubs to help San Diegian train for 10ks, half and full marathons (SD Track Club, Team in Training, etc). UCSD should create one to support Moores Cancer Center or other research programs.

An iPhone app to catch up on Triton goings on.
It would be great to have this as an interface to any blogs, email lists, or other data sources for things happening in the UCSD Alumni community.

UC San Diego Alumni Day at the Del Mar Races
Wouldn't it be fun to host an alumni day at the Del Mar racetrack? Maybe follow it up with appetizers at either The Poseidon orJake's?
