Prof. Rachel Moran has been named the new dean of UCLA School of Law. “I am delighted that my colleague Rachel Moran will be the new dean at UCLA Law,” said Dean Chemerinsky. “Rachel has made an outstanding contribution as one of the founding faculty at UCI Law. I know that she will be a terrific dean and look forward to working with her in the years ahead.” Prof. Moran taught for 25 years at Berkeley Law before coming to UCI, served as 2009 president of the Association of American Law Schools, and advocates for the return of the citizen-lawyer, who represents clients and helps improve society.

The accomplishments of the Inaugural Class this first year are too numerous to list, so here are just three highlights: 1. 12 student organizations were formed, several of them dedicated to public service. 2. Almost the entire class logged pro bono work hours during the Spring semester; more than half of them logged 20 hours or more (one student logged 77 hours!). 3. The entire Inaugural Class landed jobs this summer.
