The Warren College motto, "Toward a Life in Balance," is inspired by the philosophy of our namesake, former Chief Justice Earl Warren. The College is dedicated to cultivating ethically responsible citizen scholars who will flourish during their careers at UC San Diego and beyond.

Warren College to Honor Faculty Members at Commencement
Warren College will honor three faculty members who have played a critical role in the advancement of undergraduate teaching. Professors Ellen Comisso (Political Science), Gerald Doppelt (Philosophy), and Samuel Rickless (Philosophy) have made signal contributions to the College and have demonstrated passionate commitment to the excellence of undergraduate education by virtue of their leadership in developing and enhancing Warren's foundation course, Ethics and Society (Phil/Poli 27). They have also been instrumental in the conception and shaping of the new Phil/Poli 28, a second course in Ethics and Society, that will debut next academic year. We will publicly laud their accomplishments at Warren's commencement ceremony on June 13, when we present each of them with the Warren College Faculty Service Award.
