Learn More About Your Weight Loss Surgery Options

If you are considering lap band or another weight loss surgery, the first step is to attend a free, one-hour informational seminar. Seminar attendance is required prior to a consult or surgery, and you have the option of attending in person or watching an online presentation

Upcoming Seminars:  

Seminars are generally held at Moores UCSD Cancer Center. (Directions). 

About the seminars:
  • Feel free to invite family members or friends to attend with you.
  • Plan to allow 1.5 hours for the seminar. If you cannot stay through an entire seminar you will need to repeat it prior to making an appointment for a consultation.
  • Seminar speakers include the surgeon, nurse practitioner, psychologist, dietitian, and patient advocate.
  • Parking in the patient lot (Lot P761 off Health Sciences Drive) costs $1 per hour.
