Hannah Madison Taylor

"I think of my songs as a collection of stories--some of them are my own, some are other people’s, and some are events happening all around us.”

Perhaps that is why once you hear Hannah Madison Taylor’s music, it stays with you. Her sound is infinitely relatable, yet alive with surprising twists and turns of pop/R&B melodies and soulful lyrics. Hannah first broke onto the music scene in Dallas, TX, in 2006, playing clubs and local venues while working as a songwriter with many artists and producers, including Marlow Rosado and Chris Bell.

In 2008, New York Giants cornerback, R.W. McQuarters, was given a copy of Hannah’s demo by a mutual friend and member of his PR team, in consideration for the upcoming launch of the McQuarters Foundation. After hearing the first song, he picked up the phone and said, “Get her here.”

A week and a half later the unknown girl from Dallas, Texas made her debut to a celebrity-filled audience, taking them by surprise with a riveting performance. That same evening, Hannah was introduced to vocal guru Ankh Ra Amenhetep (MTV’s “Making the Band”) who later went on to say, “You’re absolutely delightful. They only make a few of you every decade. You’re definitely in the one percent.”

The buzz continued to grow in 2009 as Hannah’s music drew attention from indie and online radio stations, multiple interviews, and live performances for People Magazine, MTV, VH1, AEG,Sony, Live Nation, and other media companies. HMT was chosen as one of the Gap Store’s “Born to Play” performers for her versatility and appeal to a wide audience.

In January 2010, she headed back into the studio to record her first full length record, “Love or Something Like It”, which fuses retro Motown R&B with Pop/Rock. First reviews of this yet unreleased album compare HMT’s sound to the early years of greats like Janet Jackson and Mariah Carey, with a purity that is palpable in both the crescendos and whispers of her voice, captivating the listener.
