GenomeLIFE Now Online

The GenomeLIFE you know so well isn't going anywhere. But now you can also find us in the palm of your hand, peruse stories according to your particular interests, find out what's popular, and share us with your friends and family. Check it out on your tablet, smartphone or computer.

IGSP Awards Grants

The IGSP has awarded four interdisciplinary and collaborative research grants for innovative research exploring issues ranging from the biological basis for human empathy (and the lack thereof) to the instinctive urge to drink water when we're thirsty.

New Director for CBB

Alex Hartemink is the new Director of the Computational Biology and Bioinformatics doctoral program as of July 2012. In his new role, Hartemink says he will also be considering the potential for other innovative opportunities for computational biology at Duke.

Introducing our Facebook Timeline

Many of you know us on facebook as Genome Duke. We've now moved to our new facebook home, complete with our own timeline. Like us and join the conversation on important (and fun!) issues in genome sciences and society.

Kimmel Cloud Project

An IGSP cloud computing project sponsored by the Sidney Kimmel Foundation for Cancer Research is accepting proposals to use computational resources for biomedical research projects. Learn more.

Redford is attempting to identify gene variants that increase pre-disease endophenotype expression in persons exposed to chronic or acute stress.

Svetlana Ukraintseva, PhD

Svetlana's major focus of her current research is on mechanisms of human aging, and the complex relationships among aging, health and longevity.

Charles Gersbach, PhD

Charles's lab is engineering new methods for directing cell behavior to regenerate diseased or damaged tissues and treat genetic diseases.

Barbara Engelhardt, PhD

Barbara's work focuses on understanding the underlying biological mechanisms of complex phenotypes and human diseases.

Kris Wood, PhD

The Wood lab develops state of the art tools for large-scale, efficient, and information-rich mammalian functional genomics experiments.

Anne West, MD, PhD

Anne's lab is identifying ways in which disruption of chromatin regulation may underlie the development of neuropsychiatric disorders.
