"Lets not reinvent the wheel" is a faulty argument for... well everything. There are very few, if any, man-made things that are "complete". Even the idea of "completion", much like the ideal utopia of political philosophy or the 100% safe encryption, is impossible to achieve. Its a worthy goal, and should be the goal of all design - but it needs to be considered a goal and never a reachable destination.
Here are two guy who reinvented the wheel, in this case the cardboard box as an example.

This, right here is one of the problems with Linux. There is an influx of children who think that they are somehow "customers" and everyone should rush to serve them... or else they will be very very angry.
This right here is what drives devs away and makes creative groups close ranks and stops the influx of ideas and the back-and-forth needed for them.

One thing I take away from this thread is how rude behavior is not being accepted, and that is both awesome and important. Thanks everybody for that, and please, please keep doing so. The warm fuzzy feeling I get from the support by the community trumps the annoyance and discouragement over the ignorant and offensive behavior of that individual.

I know that Plasma is not perfect, it's far from perfect in fact, but what if not tender love, care and hard work can make it good? Polemic and ad hominem attacks do the opposite, but I'm not willing to sacrifice the potential we have built up for one ignorant person on the Internet.

We must make sure those events are isolated, and that is where everyone has a shared responsibility to call people on their behavior.

New Years is seven hours away but I might post my resolutions now.
1) Share and show something drawn/designed every day. Even if its just a doodle of a coming mock-up or some stupid face. Its gonna get documented.
2) Do more odd things. Just go and do the things I from time to time feel I should. More doing, less analyzing.
3) Be better at wenting frustration at those who deserve it instead of the people around me who don't.

I have an application for a kinda prestigious art-education to fill out (one which appearently should have occupied my last four months, so lets see how well that pans out) and about ten days to feel comfortable with some techy stuff. Plus work.

So if anybody knows of a place to stay in #krabi we would love to hear about it. Seriously. We're not looking forward to spending the night on the street.

Since its the 23rd, the day before Christmas Eve (when Swedes celebrate christmas (since its closer to the solstice)) its also uppesittarkväll ... essentially "staying up late evening" when you're supposed to fix stuff before Christmas Eve.
Here we're rewatching Twin Peaks and drinking Irish coffees, my husband and his mom doesn't do the rhyming thing for presents anyway (and don't enjoy when I do it to them) and since he doesn't eat meat theres no Ham to fix. All the other stuff his mom has finished so... well Twin Peaks it is.
