This past summer we announced — The open source platform that powers DEV, and other communities. Here was that announcement: In 2021 we will be closing the loop and bringing the Forem ecosystem to life. Can't wait to have you as a part of it. 🌱

When you rush through trying to learn how to code, it actually takes you longer to learn.

Took several months to port this project and get the open source parts figured out. Glad that it's launched.

Personal win: I got a job offer from a company that I've been keeping my eye on since last year. I believe that this has a lot to do with my personal grind and my eagerness to learn about different tools and technologies. Sharing this to motivate others!

Hired two new devs this week. I will no longer be the "bottle neck" in my company, and I will have two people in the morning meetings who understand what I'm saying. Whoooot!

Some unspoken truths of working as a software developer: • Actual coding is just a small chunk of the whole work experience • You or someone in the team would be spending a lot of time writing documentation • Most of what you need for work are learned on the job !

Unspoken Truth: You'll write a lot of bugs, just improve from them. Overrated Perks: Work/life balance depends on the company. Underrated Perk: Working from home.

When you get your first lead role, when you join, people expect you to be the know-it-all (in a good way). This can be unnerving. What separates you from seniors isn’t even coding ability per se, it’s self-confidence.

  21. Underrated Benefit: None of the other roles I’ve worked in (e.g. marketing) have a community like we do. There is so much support and empowerment ❤️❤️❤️
