When you try to do data fetching on the server with streaming SSR with Suspense in React 18, you face the problem of hydration mismatch. Here's how to solve that.

Goroutines run in the same address space, so access to shared memory must be synchronized. The sync package provides useful primitives we can leverage.

Kotlin added the idea of Context Receivers in version 1.6.20. In this post, I'd like to toy with them to understand how useful they can be.

Let's say I've never used TypeScript before. Can anyone give the run down of what the language does and why you prefer it?

For making many games in one year, I would need to create one game in about 2 or 3 days. For creating mini-games in a short period, it is better to make regulations of what to make and how to make it.

A lot of concurrency issues can be solved by the database server. Upserts, SELECT FOR UPDATE, transactions, etc will make your life simpler.

Database querying is so hairy. One misformed query and BAM SQL Injection.

Familiarize yourself with the query planner. Look at the execution plans for your queries. Some upfront indexing helps a lot but sometimes the planner behaves oddly depending on your data.
For postgres, pganalyze is an awesome tool.

Two rules for new devs when it comes to working with databases:
1) Use a different tool to connect to production than you do to connect to your local/test/qa environments. If you can't use a different tool, have some kind of visual marker that tells you you're messing with prod.

Even though it is cool nowadays to learn all the NoSQL stuff and different database, be aware that chances are you'll have to deal with a RDBMS for sure , eventually.
So learn the basics: JOINs, indexing, GROUP BY, locking and isolation levels, correlated subqueries

Another SQL dev tip: watch your query count. The classic "N+1" problem can kill performance (though it also depends on whether it's remote to an RDBMS, or local in-process like sqlite where it's far less bad).

Top SQL tip for data analysis? Deeply understand your data model, make sure the DB structure reflects that, and write queries that assemble that structure into relevant answers.

If you want to learn about relational databases, the single best thing you can do is get a job with an established (>5 yrs old) company. See the database after some of the growing pains are sorted out. Learn the patterns. 1/?

Another SQL dev tip: learn to read a query-plan. If you're seeing sequential/linear scans of tables, it's usually a good opportunity to do better indexing.

I'm no expert at SQL but Tutorialspoint has helped me a lot in understanding how to normalize a database and how to run complex queries using the different kinds of joins.

Early-career dev tips:
β’ SQL is amazingly powerful (especially with CTEs and windowing functions) and can scale much better than many (usually NoSQL advocates) give it credit for when properly indexed
β’ learn to index properly
β’ sqlite isn't just a toy

Most of us use `create-react-app` to create a React App. But when your project code grows, you might face higher build times, a slower start in the development server, and more lag issues. Enter: Vite!

I tell people I have versatile work, but it really is versatile. I go from wrangling websockets to coaching public speakers, to pair testing with colleagues, to designing testing for embedded to cloud, to decision making in board room in cadence of half-a-day.

C# 11 allows converting string literals containing only UTF-8 characters to their byte representation. This is done at compile-time, so the bytes are ready to use without additional runtime cost
