I'm working on a FOSS project to teach Python by interacting with Minecraft.
Please take a look and provide feedback.
https://github.com/gilesknap/mciwb
The project provides a library that allows you to build in a Minecraft world using Python but also call Python functions when events occur inside the world.
It also provides a tutorial for step by step setup and beginner's introduction to Python programming.
The castle with working portcullis pictured below was built using this project.
