 I mistook "lite" to mean "light" as in "lightweight."

It's definitely not suited to older laptops, at least not mine. It took several minutes to load Google Chrome. Google Chrome? Are you serious? Firefox is better and loads/runs faster. Please get with the program. Either it's "light" or "lite", whatever the heck "lite" is meant to mean. I can run a "LIGHT" distro myself by installing Debian minimal install and building from there.

Beyond the only web browser bundled with this distro being slower than watching paint dry, I didn't really find anything special at all. AT ALL.

If you have an OLD LAPTOP you deserve [and can find] better.

 I selected Linux Lite (Oct 2021) as it worked very well with my laptop hardware (ASUS BR1100FKA).
The touch display and "screen" camera work well, only the "keyboard" camera did not work.

It is faster than Linux Mint and more stable (for me). Also Linux Lite does not slow down over time, unlike Mint (for me).

Not a fan of thunar/catfish (FileManager) and thunderbird (email) , so installed nemo (FileManager) and Evolution (email). You can select nemo in the FileManager (widgit), but you cannot delete thunar (it is required by the system).

You do need to clean up temporary/backup/log files from time to time, particularly the /boot area.

So would a pay money for Linus Lite, yes.

 Engaged developer. Super documentation. Helpful support forum. Simple. Fast. Easy.

I've been using Linux Lite since 2014. It is my preferred distribution. Since then, I've seen several other distributions I tried that were not as faithful with their releases. Linux Lite has a release roadmap and a track record of sticking to it.

Documentation and helpful support are supreme necessities and Linux Lite has it. The senior developer has introduced the idea of moving the distro to KDE. I don't know if that's still in the cards. I like what I've seen in the nearly 10 years I've been using the operating system, and if he still decides that KDE is best, I'll still be using Linux Lite.
