Master Locksmiths Association of Australasia

We joined the Today Show this morning ahead of the 2026 John Andrew Apprentice of the Year competition, kicking off tomorrow! 🏆 Our President Martin Coote was joined by Flynn from Macquarie Locksmiths, who competed last year, and Dominic from Riverina Safes & Locks, one of this year’s nominees, to give viewers a sneak peek at the skills and precision on show. A huge thank you to CMI Safe & Vault Company for supplying two MG2 safes for the competition for the second year running! 👏 Also, thanks to the Today Show for having us and helping shine a light on the next generation of locksmithing talent. Now, let the competition begin… #MasterLocksmiths #Locksmiths

Great to see NZ Regional Director Nicola Hunt alongside Logan Wiley of Armstrong Smarter Security on TVNZ’s Breakfast program ahead of next week’s John Andrew Apprentice of the Year competition in Melbourne. Congratulations Logan on representing your industry so well on national television! Master Locksmiths Association of Australasia is proud to shine a spotlight on the talented apprentices driving the future of our industry and showcasing locksmithing as a highly skilled, rewarding profession across New Zealand. Good luck in Melbourne Logan! 🇳🇿🔐🏆

portier has worked in access since 1992. Keys, cylinders, the locking plan worked out around a table. Three years ago we stopped selling through the channel and went direct, so our customers are now the universities, hospitals and government estates running those plans. In 93 conversations with them this year, not one asked whether their mechanical key management was any good. That question is closed. Everything sitting next to it is not, and most of it is settled before you get the call. At the Master Locksmiths Association of Australasia expo this year I want to say what that sounds like from our side of the desk. Come to my session, "What your customers decide before they call you", Friday 2 October, 2.45pm, Learning Lab. The portier team is also on Stand 28. Come and say hello.

The Master Locksmiths Association is reminding members to remain vigilant against criminals who clone legitimate locksmith websites and impersonate Master Locksmith businesses. We also encourage members to warn their local community about these scams. Rather than relying on Google searches, advise them to use the Find a Master Locksmith directory to locate an accredited professional. By staying alert and working together, we can help protect our industry and the communities we serve.
