You can post a community answer like this: Hi, Based on GitHub Education's eligibility requirements, simply having a recognized academic email domain does not automatically qualify a student for GitHub Education benefits. GitHub requires students to be enrolled in a degree- or diploma-granting program at an accredited institution. In your case, GitHub recognizing the Sup De Vinci email domain only means that the institution's email domain is known to GitHub. It does not necessarily mean that every program under that institution is eligible for the Student Developer Pack. Since your programme is associated with RNCP 38478, it may be worth confirming whether GitHub considers this qualification equivalent to an accredited degree or diploma for GitHub Education purposes. The automatic message suggests that the programme or institution may currently be classified as a code school, bootcamp, or non-degree educational provider within GitHub's verification system. I would recommend: Contacting GitHub Education Support directly. GitHub's documentation states that students can use documents such as an enrolment verification letter, transcript, class schedule, or student ID to verify eligibility. Hopefully a GitHub Education staff member can clarify whether this is a programme-classification issue or a verification error. Helpful official resources A useful walkthrough of the GitHub Student Developer Pack application process: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=GitHub+Student+Developer+Pack+application+tutorial This answer explains the most likely reason: recognized email domain ≠ automatic eligibility. GitHub separately checks whether the programme is considered an accredited degree or diploma-granting course. |

Hi, Based on GitHub's eligibility requirements, having a recognised academic email domain and being eligible for GitHub Education are not the same thing. GitHub recognising your school as "Sup De Vinci - Information Systems Engineering" only confirms that the institution and its email domain exist in GitHub's verification system. The Student Developer Pack, however, requires students to be enrolled in an accredited degree- or diploma-granting programme. The message you received suggests that GitHub's verification system may currently classify your programme or institution differently, even though the domain itself is recognised. Since your programme is associated with RNCP 38478, there are a few possible explanations: GitHub may not have full accreditation information for this specific programme. Hi, Thank you for the clarification. I checked the official information about my programme, and I believe there may be a classification issue that could explain the rejection. I am enrolled in the Bachelor Développement Informatique (3rd year) at Sup De Vinci, Nantes, France. According to the official France Compétences registry, RNCP 38478 is a Level 6 professional qualification titled: “Coordinateur de projets informatiques (infrastructures cloud, applicatives ou data)” The certification is officially registered with France Compétences until December 21, 2028, and the certificate issuer is Association Sup De Vinci (CFA Léonard de Vinci). The official Sup De Vinci programme page also identifies RNCP 38478 as the qualification prepared by the programme. At the same time, GitHub recognizes my academic domain and identifies my institution as “Sup De Vinci - Information Systems Engineering”, but the Education application is immediately blocked with the message stating that my school is not an accredited degree or diploma-granting institution. Since individual manual application reviews are no longer available through Support, could someone from GitHub Education clarify how Sup De Vinci and/or the RNCP 38478 programme is currently classified in the GitHub Education system? In particular, I would like to understand whether:
I can provide the official programme and France Compétences documentation if needed. Thank you for your help. |

Hi, Based on the information available from official sources, this appears to be a programme or institution classification issue rather than a problem with my student status. GitHub recognises my academic email domain and identifies my institution as"Sup De Vinci - Information Systems Engineering", which suggests that the domain is already known to GitHub. However, eligibility for GitHub Education appears to be evaluated separately from email-domain recognition. Official GitHub Education eligibility requirements: Regarding my programme: RNCP 38478 ("Coordinateur de projets informatiques - infrastructures cloud, applicatives ou data") is registered as a Level 6 qualification. Official France Compétences record: https://www.francecompetences.fr/recherche/rncp/38478/ Official Sup De Vinci programme page: https://www.supdevinci.fr/formation/bachelor-developpement-full-stack/nantes/ The programme page explicitly states that the Bachelor prepares students for the certified Level 6 qualification: "Titre certifié niveau 6 'Coordinateur de projets informatiques (infrastructures cloud, applicatives ou data)' - RNCP 38478." Since my GitHub Education application is automatically blocked with the message that my school is not an accredited degree- or diploma-granting institution, could a member of the GitHub Education team please clarify: Whether Sup De Vinci (Nantes) is currently eligible for the Student Developer Pack; If this is a classification issue, other students enrolled in the same programme may be affected as well. I can provide additional official documentation from both Sup De Vinci and France Compétences if needed. Thank you |
Why the rejection happensGitHub requires enrollment in a degree- or diploma-granting programme at an educational institution. Official criteria (from GitHub Docs):
Your programme meets this:
RNCP Level 6 titles are state-recognized professional diplomas in France (not informal bootcamps or unaccredited courses). GitHub’s system sometimes misclassifies private French écoles / CFA programmes or RNCP titles as “not accredited degree/diploma-granting” when the school is not fully mapped in their database. This matches the exact error you described. Deep solution — step-by-step fix

Look for channels that show the current application flow, document requirements, and common rejection fixes (name matching, dated documents, school mapping). The official process is straightforward once the documents clearly prove a degree/diploma-granting programme. Your case is strong because the RNCP title is official, active, and issued by the school itself. Most students in similar French RNCP programmes succeed after providing the France Compétences fiche + a clear enrollment letter. Prepare the documents carefully, reapply, and escalate with the exact links above if needed. Good luck — you should get approved. |

School Email/Domain Issues
Hi everyone,
Hello,
I am currently enrolled in the Bachelor Développement Informatique, 3ème année program at Sup De Vinci in Nantes, France.
I am trying to apply for GitHub Education benefits, but my application is blocked immediately with the following message:
“GitHub Education benefits are currently only available for accredited degree or diploma granting schools. Your code school, boot camp, or other organized informal learning institution may apply to become a GitHub Campus Partner.”
However, GitHub has already verified my academic email domain and identifies my school as:
Sup De Vinci - Information Systems Engineering
My program is associated with RNCP 38478.
I would like to understand why my Education application is being blocked even though GitHub recognizes my academic domain and institution.
Has anyone encountered the same issue with Sup De Vinci, or knows whether this specific program is currently eligible for GitHub Education benefits?
I can provide proof of enrollment if necessary.
Thank you!
