NSE Courses

Public training content is based on the standard NSE training curriculum. Public training content cannot be customized. Fortinet instructors can deliver public training sessions onsite at any Fortinet chosen facility, or online, through a virtual classroom application.

The public training schedule is available on the schedule page. In public training sessions, students share the learning experience with a diverse group, which can include Fortinet employees, business partners, and customers from all over the world.

Contact Fortinet Resellers or Authorized Training Centers for purchasing and pricing information. After your purchase is confirmed, the Fortinet training team will contact you to coordinate your enrollment in a public training session.

Private training is a dedicated training session for a specific group of attendees. It provides the same lectures and hands-on activities as Fortinet public training, but with the flexibility to deliver the NSE standard training curriculum, or customized content. Fortinet can instructors deliver private training sessions onsite, at the customer’s facility, or online, through a virtual classroom application.

Contact Fortinet Resellers or Authorized Training Centers for purchasing and pricing information. After you purchase is confirmed, the Fortinet training team will contact you to organize your private training session. Private training session requests are scoped, quoted, developed (if applicable), and delivered by the Fortinet Training team (minimum quantities apply).

Most of our courses are delivered in the following formats:
  • Instructor-led training, are live sessions delivered onsite (in-person) or online (over a virtual classroom application). This format includes standard NSE training content delivered in scheduled public classes or private classes. Private requests are scoped, quoted, and delivered by the Fortinet Training team (minimum quantities apply).
  • Self-paced training, are online training videos and resources that are available through the NSE Training Institute Library page, free of charge. On-demand lab access with interactive hands-on activities, is available to purchase.

On-demand lab access within self-paced courses allows students to perform guided lab activities independently, after they complete the associated pre-recorded NSE self-paced lessons.

On-demand lab access with interactive hands-on activities enriches the student learning experience and reinforces the knowledge the student gained from taking the pre-recorded NSE self-paced lessons. On-demand lab access is available for purchase. If you purchase on-demand lab, the self-paced course page will be enhanced with the lab link and lab guides, and completion of the on-demand labs will be part of the requirements to complete the learning activities within the self-paced course.

No. If you purchase on-demand lab access within self-paced courses, you are required to complete the pre-recorded NSE self-paced lesson(s) to gain access to the associated lab activity. You must take note of the estimated lab duration for each on-demand lab activity, and ensure you have enough time to complete the lab, because you can only launch each lab activity once.
NSE 1-3: The Cybersecurity Education and Fortinet Product Awareness courses are available online as self-paced training. These courses are open to everyone, free of charge.

NSE 4-7: The technical courses are available online in the following formats:
  • Online self-paced courses without hands-on lab activities are open to everyone, free of charge. On-demand hands-on lab access within self-paced courses is available to purchase.
  • Instructor-led training with hands-on lab activities is available for everyone to purchase. View the class schedule to find an instructor-led training session that works for you.

After you are log in to the NSE Training Institute portal, take the following steps:
  1. Go to Library and select the course you want to enroll in.
  2. In the upper-right corner of the screen, click Enroll Now.
You will be enrolled in the self-paced version of the selected course and redirected to the course page.
You can purchase on-demand lab access with interactive hands-on activities using the following methods:
  1. By credit card, through the self-paced course on the NSE Training Institute portal. On-demand lab access is granted automatically upon payment. This payment method is available for selected self-paced courses.
  2. By purchase order (PO), through Fortinet Resellers or Authorized Training Centers. The Fortinet Training team will contact you to coordinate your access to the on-demand labs.
After you complete your purchase, you are granted lab access within the self-paced course with the Lab Guide, and completing the labs becomes part of the requirements to complete the learning activities. You can find the catalog of self-paced courses on the Library page.

You can purchase our scheduled instructor-led courses, advertised on schedule page, through Fortinet Resellers or Authorized Training Centers. See NSE Training Institute Purchasing Process for more information about purchasing Fortinet training products.

Make sure your order includes your contact information, and the dates of the instructor-led training session you are interested in. After Fortinet receives your purchase order from the reseller partner you contacted, the Fortinet Training team will contact you to coordinate your enrollment in the instructor-led training session of your choice. If your desired training session is closed to enrollment, you will be given more options from the schedule to choose from.

After you complete your purchase, the Fortinet Training team will contact you to coordinate your enrollment in the instructor-led training session of your choice. You will also receive a confirmation of enrollment through email, as soon as the enrollment is complete. When you log in to the NSE Training Institute portal, you will find the Fortinet training course that you purchased, on your In Progress training dashboard page.

Additionally:
  • For instructor-led online course enrollment, students will receive an email with class information details approximately 24-48 hours prior to the start of the training class.
  • For instructor-led classroom course enrollment, students will receive a classroom-based training confirmation, with the training address, office access information, and some logistics details, approximately 14 days prior to the start of the training course.
Yes. After you complete a course, you can download a course completion certificate. Your course completion certificate is available for download on your Completed Courses training dashboard page of the NSE Training Institute portal.

Please note that course completion certificates are not NSE certifications. For more information about how to achieve NSE certifications, review the Certifications page.
No. You must complete the program requirements for the NSE level to achieve the corresponding NSE certification and become NSE certified.
