SELF-ADJUSTING
OPERATORS

Self-Adjusting Operators are the next generation of automatic door operators. More than just hardware, these operators recognize changes in environmental factors such as wind or stack pressure and automatically adjust for them. That allows consistent door control through seasonal variations, inclement weather, daily changes in building pressure and a variety of conditions that would typically be cause for adjustments – saving both time and effort.

AdaptivIQ from LCN: Innovation for Automated Doors

Four Key Ingredients of an LCN Self-Adjusting Operator

AdaptivIQ

LCN’s AdaptivIQ automatically adjusts throughout both the opening and closing cycle to remain consistent with the door setup. That’s both speed and force fully controlled. If there’s wind trying to push the door open too fast, AdaptivIQ will slow the door down. Stack pressure refusing to let a door open? AdaptivIQ adds more power to open the door smoothly.

Smart Power Boost

This technology not only recognizes when additional force is needed to properly close the door but is also smart enough to determine how much force is required based on the level of resistance. It can then smartly apply that specific level of force to avoid overcompensating, which could result in slamming. It also disengages entirely if additional force isn’t needed, further reducing the risk of slamming and unneeded wear and tear on other door hardware.

Self-Calibration

Upon installation, a self-adjusting operator can also self-calibrate. Once the installation is complete and the arm is set up properly, users can select the self-calibration cycle on the controller and, based on the door size, door weight, and a handful of other factors, the operator will automatically determine default settings unique to that opening.

Power Assist

When a door with a self-adjusting operator is used manually, Power Assist engages to provide an equally smooth experience. Power Assist reduces the opening resistance and allows the pedestrians to open the door with ease.
