Seven years of building alongside Habitat for Humanity of Greater Indianapolis! Citizens employees recently spent the day volunteering at Devon Creek, Habitat’s new 10-home neighborhood designed to expand affordable homeownership opportunities and create lasting community connections. Our team helped with the finishing touches inside the homes, from installing blinds and door hardware to closet systems, mirrors and other fixtures, helping move them one step closer to welcoming their future homeowners. We’re grateful to continue this longstanding partnership and to play a small part in building homes, neighborhoods and stronger communities across Indianapolis.

🚧 Midtown residents and commuters: Citizens Energy Group crews are responding to an urgent sewer repair along the south side of Fall Creek Parkway N Drive, between Illinois and Meridian streets. Eastbound lanes along this single block will be restricted overnight; westbound traffic will be unimpacted. Security officials and traffic control signage will be on site alerting motorists to the overnight closure.

Yesterday, we gathered for the 5th Annual Yvonne Perkins Legacy Fund Golf Outing to celebrate a legacy that continues to make a difference in Indianapolis. Yvonne dedicated more than 40 years to serving our community, including her time as Vice President of Community Relations at Citizens. Today, the fund that bears her name carries that commitment forward by helping individuals pursue college, technical training and apprenticeships. Together, this event and past fundraisers have raised more than $1 million for scholarships and educational programs. In the past three years alone, the Yvonne Perkins Legacy Fund has awarded five grants and 38 scholarships, committing $238,500 to students and organizations across our community. We were also grateful to hear from Ruba Marshood of Indy Reads, one of the Legacy Fund's community partners, about the work they're doing to create educational opportunities in Indianapolis. Thank you to the sponsors, golfers, volunteers and partners who made another year possible. It was a great day on the course celebrating Yvonne's legacy and continuing the work she cared so deeply about.
