If your coverage report is built on tags, it's only grading the resources someone tagged, so everything else never shows up. We wanted to know how big that blind spot is, so we counted. Across 78 cloud environments, we assessed 53,709 production resources on AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure. Only 14% carried a "production" tag. When we checked all of them for a recovery copy, 3 in 5 had none: no policy, no recovery point, and no native snapshot. Two years ago, leaving a low-tier resource unprotected was a reasonable cost decision. Now, an AI agent with valid credentials writes to anything those credentials reach, at machine speed, with no idea how you tiered it.
