Facilitate the Educational Choice for Children Act (ECCA) to provide scholarships to students nationwide.

About us

Georgia Student Scholarship Organization is expanding into Federal Student Scholarship Organization! Built on our proprietary, best-in-class, and secure platform that's already proven at scale in Georgia, we are well-positioned to support the January 1, 2027 launch of the Educational Choice for Children Act (ECCA) and deliver federal tax credit scholarships to deserving students at thousands of charter, public, and independent/private schools across the country. The program provides up to $1,700 for individuals who make donations to certain scholarship-granting organizations, which use the funds to provide K-12 scholarships for families earning under 300% of the area’s median income to spend on private school tuition, room and board, supplies, tutoring and special needs services.

  • 🏫 Federal SSO — We Exist for Students, Schools, and Taxpayers. And taxpayers are an important part of the equation. Starting January 1, 2027, a new federal tax credit gives eligible taxpayers an opportunity to help direct federal tax dollars toward student scholarships. Instead of simply sending those tax dollars to Washington, taxpayers can contribute to Federal SSO and receive a dollar-for-dollar federal income tax credit—up to $1,700 per individual, or $3,400 for married filing jointly! That means taxpayers can play a direct role in expanding access to: 🎓 Student scholarships 📚 Tuition, tutoring, and educational materials 💙 Special education support 🏫 More educational options for families It’s about making your tax dollars work for something you believe in: students, families, and educational opportunity. Federal SSO is here to make that process simple, transparent, and impactful. Learn more at www.federalsso.org

  • Yesterday, the U.S. Treasury released the first official guidance for the Education Freedom Tax Credit Scholarship Program, giving states and scholarship organizations a clearer picture of what comes next! Here are a few of the biggest takeaways: Families won’t face a marriage penalty. Married couples filing jointly may each claim the full $1,700 tax credit, meaning a family could potentially direct up to $3,400 toward scholarships supporting educational opportunities for children. States now have a clearer path to participation. The new guidance gives governors a framework for joining the program and gives Scholarship Granting Organizations, including organizations like ACE Scholarships, a roadmap for preparing to serve families in participating states. Transparency is built into the program. Treasury outlined requirements for record keeping, reporting, and compliance intended to maintain accountability and give donors, taxpayers, and families confidence in how the program operates. Together, these initial rules establish an important framework for implementation and give states and scholarship organizations a clearer direction as they prepare for what’s ahead. There is more information to come, follow us to stay up to date as we watch the mission of Federal SSO come into clearer view. #SchoolChoice #EFTC #StudentScholarships #NationalStudentAdvocacy #SGO

  • Congress has officially passed landmark federal tax credit legislation, beginning in 2027, that allows individuals to receive a dollar-for-dollar federal income tax credit for contributions made to Scholarship Granting Organizations (SGOs or SSOs) — including Georgia SSO. This exciting federal program closely resembles Georgia’s own Qualified Education Expense (QEE) Tax Credit but operates at the national level, expanding opportunity for families across the country. Georgia SSO (now Federal SSO) will serve as a leading advocate, resource, and administrator of this program, and we will share timely updates as the U.S. Treasury finalizes implementation details ahead of the program’s launch on January 1, 2027. We are SO excited to be an advocate for students to be able to choose a school that best aligns with their needs. Every child deserves access to an education that meets their unique needs. Even by doing something as simple as following our account and spreading the word, you can be a part of the mission. 💙📚 #schoolchoice #schoolchoiceweek #taxcredit #scholarshipopportunities #FTCS

  • What is a federal tax credit AND how does it work? 🤔 Let’s break it down. ⬇️ A federal tax credit directly reduces the amount of federal income tax you owe — dollar for dollar. That means it’s not just a deduction… it’s a full credit applied to your tax liability. When you contribute to a qualified Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO) or Student Scholarship Organization (SSO), you may be eligible to receive a 100% non-refundable federal tax credit for your contribution. That means: • You support student scholarships 📚 • You may reduce your federal tax liability 💰 • You can combine this with eligible state tax credits for even greater impact Same mission. Expanded impact. More students served. 💡 Stay tuned for contribution limits and how to participate. #FederalTaxCredit #SchoolChoice #EducationFreedom #StudentScholarships #TaxSmartGiving
