Strong industrial partnerships are key to long-term capability. GKN Aerospace and Saab have signed a long-term collaboration agreement covering the Gripen E/F propulsion system. The agreement expands GKN Aerospace's role as Saab’s preferred provider of engine services related to Gripen E/F and creates a framework for deeper cooperation in engine and propulsion-related activities. Sara Eklöf, SVP Governmental Solutions - defence and space, GKN Aerospace, said: "Gripen is one of the worlds most advanced fighter aircraft systems. This agreement strengthens our collaboration with Saab and expands GKN Aerospaces role in supporting the long-term development of the Gripen E/F propulsion system.” Read the full announcement here: https://ow.ly/sT9650ZVIL4 📷Photo: Saab #Gripen #Defence #Aerospace #Aviation #Engineering #MakingThingsFly

A project doesn't end when the funding ends. H2GEAR, a flagship GKN Aerospace technology programme, has been shortlisted for ATI Project of the Year 2026. During the programme, GKN Aerospace and its partners developed technologies for hydrogen-electric flight and established new UK capabilities in cryogenic engineering and hydrogen systems integration. That work continues today through H2FlyGHT and ICEFLIGHT. Congratulations to everyone involved. #Engineering #AerospaceInnovation #MakingThingsFly Aerospace Technology Institute

What does it take to leave Earth? As the global space community gathers at the International Astronautical Congress (IAC) 2026, it's a good moment to highlight some of the engineering behind Europe’s access to space. At GKN Aerospace, our teams design, develop and manufacture all four turbines for Ariane 6’s main and upper-stage engines, as well as the SWAN nozzle for the Vulcain 2.1 engine. Thousands of hours of expertise have contributed to the programme, bringing together capabilities in design, manufacturing and advanced engineering. What does 50,000 repaired fan blades tell us? More than just a milestone. It reflects how our Johor facility has evolved into a strategic aerospace aftermarket hub, helping customers return engines to service faster while building advanced repair capability in the region. Since 2022, the site has shipped more than 50,000 repaired fan blades, demonstrating the scale and maturity of the operation. Working closely with colleagues across GKN Aerospace, the Johor team continues to support customers around the world through high-quality engine repair solutions. Behind the milestone is a sustained commitment to developing the people, processes and expertise that keep aircraft flying. #Aftermarket #MRO #Aerospace #MakingThingsFly GKN Aerospace Repair Solutions

The first Airbus A321XLR powered by Pratt & Whitney’s new GTF Advantage engine has been delivered to United Airlines.✈️ Behind the engine are major structures that connect the propulsion system with the aircraft, including the Turbine Exhaust Case (TEC) and Compressor Intermediate Case (CIC), with GKN Aerospace involved in their development, engineering, industrialisation and production for Pratt & Whitney's GTF programme. For GTF Advantage, these structures have evolved to support higher thrust and more demanding thermal and mechanical operating conditions, while addressing weight and durability. From engineering through industrialisation and series production, GKN Aerospace helps turn advanced engine technology into repeatable aerospace production.
