Attention-grabbing finding from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology this week — artificial intelligence can now competently complete almost any written assignment MIT gives to its undergraduates, per an institutional committee. In the face of that challenge, the committee said MIT must revise its governance processes to allow for more rapid curriculum changes rather than subjecting faculty to "fixed, multi-committee, year-long review processes." The committee also made recommendations to faculty, including: ✅ Do have students write by hand in class during the early stages of assigned projects ❌ Don't relying on AI detection software to determine if students are cheating ✅ Do be transparent with students if using AI content in class or during the grading and feedback process ❌ Don't enact a grade capping policy See more guidance and the rationale behind it here: https://lnkd.in/gVVsT6Pr
