Advantages and disadvantages of solar radiation
Solar radiation has both positive and negative effects on people and the environment. On the one hand, it can improve people’s well-being and produce vitamin D, which is relevant for bone structure, muscles, and the immune system. However, high UV radiation is also a risk to the skin (for example in the form of sunburn) and the eyes (for example in the form of corneal inflammations). With regard to the environment, it should be noted that, with the help of solar cells, light energy can be converted into electrical energy. In this context, photovoltaic systems are referred to, which are assigned to renewable energies.
