Nurse manager

New nurse leaders were appointed by CNO/Vice President for Nursing Marie Mulligan, PhD, RN, CNOR, NEA-BC over the past several months. They are:

Christine Carbone, BSN, MBA, RN – ED nursing director. Christine previously worked at Mather in the Emergency Department in a nursing leadership role. She left Mather to pursue a promotional leadership opportunity at Huntington and has now returned to Mather.

Marsha Deckman, MSN, RN, NE-BC, ONC – director of Nursing Professional Development. Marsha has worked as a clinical instructor in Nursing Professional Development since 2015 and has been a valuable resource to the department. Prior to that role she also assumed positions in Nursing Informatics and as a nurse manager.

Jeanne Brennan, MSN, RN, CNL, RN-BC – director of Med Surg Nursing. Prior to her new role Jeanne was nurse manager of 2 East/ 2 East Bariatrics.

Catherine Castro, BSN, RN, ONS – nurse manager for 2 South and 2 East. Catherine previously was the hospital’s orthopedic coordinator.

Earlier, Nicole Hoefler, MSN, BSN, RN, CVN, was named as director for nursing, Cardiac Cath Lab Services. Nicole came to Mather from Long Island Jewish Hospital, where she was a nurse in the cardiac cath lab for 16 years, then assistant nurse manager and interim manager for the last two years.
