Dr. Janson joined our Harbor View Internal Medicine at East Setauket practice. Originally from Stony Brook, Dr. Janson graduated from Ward Melville High School.  He received his undergraduate degree from Colgate University. After college, he worked as a data research manager at Monter Cancer Center in New Hyde Park, NY.

Dr. Janson received his medical school degree at SUNY Upstate Medical University. He completed his internal medicine residency at North Shore University Hospital – Long Island Jewish Medical Center. After residency, Dr. Janson worked as a primary care physician at Mount Sinai Queens in Astoria, NY.

What made you choose primary care?

Primary care offers the opportunity to build long-term, trusting relationships with patients, which I find very rewarding and also extremely valuable to patients in their quest for better health.

What’s your favorite way to spend a day off?

I enjoy hiking and camping in my free time.  

How do you deal with work stress?

Exercise (biking, hiking, etc) and plenty of fresh air.

What skill would you like to learn?

I would like to learn how to play a musical instrument well.  I recently started learning the cello, which I am enjoying very much.
