Dragons will roar on Saturday, September 17, 2022
The annual Dragon Boat Race Festival returns to Port Jefferson this year on Saturday, Sept. 17 in Jeanne Garant Harborfront Park.

Presented by the Greater Port Jefferson Chamber of Commerce, the races consist of local and regional teams competing in different categories depending on their level of skill. The long boat teams consist of 20 paddlers, a drummer, and a steerer.
The races are part of a day-long festival in Harborfront Park that also included Asian dance, choirs, drumming, martial arts demonstrations, and food. Awards are given in each category for best t-shirt and best drummer costume.
