Mather adds winter blood drive to address annual blood shortage

Mather Hospital has added a winter blood drive in 2024 to address a shortage of blood donations following the holidays.

The blood drive, scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 4 from 6:30am to 6:30pm in Conference Rooms A&B, adds a fourth blood drive to the 2024 calendar. The other Mather blood drives are scheduled for March 7, July 11, and Oct. 10.

Team members will receive 750 recognition points for successfully donating blood. All benefits-eligible team members will also be credited PTO accruals as follows:

• Whole blood donors = 2.5 hours of PTO

• Platelet donors = 3.75 hours of PTO

• Automated red cell donors = 3.75 hours of PTO

• Plasma donors = 3.75 hours of PTO
