UC San Diego Summer Housing 2010
UC San Diego is pleased to offer Housing to students enrolled in summer session and continuing non-enrolled students who are registered full-time during the regular academic year.
Summer residents enjoy the convenience of being close to classes; recreational facilities such as swimming pools, jacuzzis, tennis, racquetball and volleyball courts; and the nearby La Jolla Shores beach.
This year, single undergraduate students will be housed at ERC and Thurgood Marshall apartments. Single and double occupancy rooms are available, and all furnished units include kitchens with refrigerators and stoves. The bedrooms include a bed, desk, chair, closet, and bookshelf for each resident. Microwaves are not provided. Laundry facilities are located either within or near the apartment complexes. A Dining Plan is also included; for detailed information please refer to the Dining section below.
* Linens, blankets, and pillows will be provided by your Residence Life Office only upon request. You may indicate your request on your personal history form. There will be a one-time fee for this service.
To apply for Summer Housing, download the Summer Housing Contract Packet (containing Summer Session Residential Housing Contract and Personal History Form) located at the bottom of this website beginning April 12. Spaces are assigned after the Housing packet and payment are received by the Housing Administrative Services Office.
Eligibility
To be eligible for on-campus Housing during the summer a student must be either:
- An enrolled Summer Session Single Student as defined by the Summer Session Office.
- A registered UC San Diego Single Undergraduate Student as defined by the Registrar’s Office.

Dining Plan
The first meal begins with dinner on the first day of the Housing contract. Residents will be authorized to dine at various UC Dining facilities located throughout the campus. The Dining Plan is mandatory and cannot be dropped, changed, or carried forward. Hours of operation will be posted at each Dining facility.
The Summer Session Dining program offers all-you-care-to-eat meals at a set price per type of meal. If a Resident misses a particular meal period, a limited assortment of grab-and-go items will be available at the Summer Conference Services Centers (“C Stores”). Dining Dollars are deposited on your UC San Diego Student ID card at the beginning of the term of this Contract and expire at the end of the term of this Contract, are non-refundable, non-transferable, and cannot be deposited to the Triton Cash program.
Non-UC San Diego students (such as international students enrolled in regular Summer Session classes or visiting students) who do not have a UC San Diego student ID card and will be attending Summer Session will be issued a temporary Dining card on move-in day. Students will have one week to visit Student Business Services (located on the west side of the Price Center) to return the temporary meal card and obtain their permanent campus ID card. The Dining Plan will then be transferred to the permanent ID card. Failure to follow these directions will result in an interruption of the Dining Plan.
Dining hours will be posted in each of the Summer Session Dining Facilities. (Visit Dining Services Hours in mid-June for summer hours).

Housing Contract Cancellation
CONTRACT CANCELLATION (Prior to move-in dates or upon failure to take occupancy)
- To cancel this Contract, Resident must notify HDH Administrative Services in writing, by fax or via email prior to move-in day. Cancellation of this Contract will be effective upon receipt of the request. Resident will be assessed a $200 Cancellation Fee, which is incorporated into and made part of this Contract. Because it is impractical or extremely difficult to determine the actual damages, the parties agree that this Contract Cancellation Fee is presumed to be reasonable to cover the University’s administrative costs resulting from the cancellation by Resident. This fee represents a reasonable endeavor by the University to estimate fair average compensation for any loss that may be sustained, and is accepted as the amount of liquidated damages.
- Failure to cancel the Contract or to move in during the specified dates will constitute a “No Show.” The Contract will be cancelled and Resident will be charged a $200 cancellation fee.
** For information regarding Termination of Contract after move-in please refer to Section #6 in your Summer Housing Contract.
