Take Screenshots And Upload To Imgur With Imgur-Screenshot (Optional: Nautilus, Nemo And Caja Imgur Upload Scripts)

The Shutter Imgur.com upload plugin stopped working recently, so I've been looking for alternatives and I stumbled upon Imgur-Screenshot, a bash script that can take screenshots and upload them to Imgur.

Kazam Screencaster 1.3.2 Gets New UI, Screenshots Support

A new Kazam Screencaster version has been released today, which brings a complete UI overhaul, support for taking screenshots and other new features.

Kazam is a screen recording tool - or better said, it was, because with the latest 1.3.2 version, it's not just for screencasts and it can be used to take screenshots as well: fullscreen (current monitor), all screens, window or area.

The new version also brings a new user interface which lets you easily switch between the screencast and screenshot mode:

Shutter Screenshot Tool Gets New Upload Plugins (Including: Dropbox, TwitPic, Imgur, Minus)

Shutter, probably the best screenshot tool for Linux, has been updated today, getting many new upload plugins for services such as Dropbox, ImageShack, Imgur, Minus, Omploader, TwitPic, UbuntuPics and more.

Scripts To Take Screenshot And Upload To Imgur Automatically [Linux]

Based on the Nautilus Actions script and the bash script (see the end of the post) in THIS post, I have created 2 very simple scripts to take a screenshot of your desktop and upload it to Imgur.com, displaying the links (direct link, thumbnail, delete link, etc.).

I made 2 scripts because I wanted a command line and a visual tool for doing this. The scripts were made for my own use, but decided to share them with you.

Here is a video with the "visual" script in action:

Shutter 0.85 Released - Advanced Screenshots Tool For Linux

shutter 0.85

After 15 weeks of development, Shutter 0.85 has finally been released. Shutter is a feature-rich screenshot program. You can take a screenshot of a specific area, window, your whole screen, or even of a website – apply different effects to it, draw on it to highlight points, and then upload to an image hosting site, all within one window.

New in Shutter 0.85:

Skitch for Mac: Probably The Best Screenshot Taking Application [Mac]

Skitch is a Mac-only screenshot taking application. Think of it as an Mac alternative for the popular Windows screenshots (with annotations) application: FSCapture (my personal favourite).

Basically, any application designed for taking screenshots can do that, and the difference is made by the extra options such as easily highlighting some text, adding arrows and so on, and at this, Skitch is the best I've seen. You can even call it a lightweight image editor because it can be used for that too.

Install XFCE4 Screenshooter 1.6.0 in Ubuntu Jaunty (From a .deb File)

We already presented the best screenshot application for Linux (for me at least): XFCE4 Screenshooter 1.6.0 (the article also explains how to make it the default screenshot tool in Ubuntu). But At the time I wrote the post, there was no .deb package available for Ubuntu so you had to compile it. Now there is such a package, so there is no need to compile it, you just have to download it from this location (select i686 or x64 according to your Ubuntu version).

To see Screenshooter in action, I've also created a small video you can watch:

Please note that to be able to upload images directly to Zimagez, you'll need an account (free).
