I keep meaning to write a review and only getting to it now. We have regularly rented cars from Grays and they have been a real pleasure to deal with nothing is a problem, one example is when I had a flat Tyre they came out to check/pump up. This last summer has prompted me to write this review. Extended family all went to Spain for holidays, on return I didn't realise I hadn't communicated the time of our flight correctly-I gave a later time than actual time of flight. So we went down at earlier time as up to this point I thought I had sent correct flight times and without making any fuss or big deal the experienced staff handled the situation enabling a family of kids/grandparents and stressed parents to make their flight home. I just wanted to say a big thank you for going over and above but also for being so professional as was admittedly our mistake.

The app doesn't work and isn't accessible, the forklifts need photos of the battery which is the most expensive part of the forklift

Totally disappointed with the purchase of Bose speakers this was damaged and the supervisor did not give any refund for this had to throw in the bin very bad experience

Dealing with Grays was fine. However, arranging for the product to be picked up and delivered to my home revealed some problems: Time taken - I still haven't received the product, and the delivery cost was abnormally high [ $28]. You need a more efficient and economical system. I would have been quite happy to arrange pickup from the warehouse and delivery to me.

Extremely disappointing purchase and complaint handling.

I purchased a 2020 Ford Ranger through Grays and paid to have it transported from Victoria to Sydney. On starting the vehicle, I noticed strong smoke and an unpleasant burning smell. This problem was not disclosed in the sale description I relied on when purchasing the vehicle. I also raised a concern about the vehicle’s odometer reading.

I contacted Grays, explained the issues and requested to return the vehicle for a refund, including the transport costs. I offered to make the vehicle available for inspection so they could verify the problems themselves. I have retained my receipts and correspondence.

After escalating my complaint, Grays advised that they had reviewed the documents and correspondence but would not approve a refund. Their explanation was that they do not perform mechanical or maintenance inspections or test the vehicle’s inclusions. They also stated that the problems were not known to Grays or the vendor and were not detectable during a quick walkaround or start-up.

That response was particularly frustrating because the smoke and burning smell were noticeable to me when starting the vehicle. From my perspective, these are significant issues that would have affected my decision to buy it.

Grays has now confirmed that this is their final decision and that no refund or compensation will be offered. Instead, they suggested selling the vehicle privately or relisting it through Grays.

I am left with the vehicle, the purchase and transport expenses, and unresolved problems. Being advised to sell it on does not resolve my complaint.

Based on my experience, I would not buy another vehicle through Grays. My experience with both the purchase and the handling of my complaint has been extremely disappointing.

My story will be told fully when the time is appropriate.
My issue is still being dealt with 2 months after it was flagged in what should have been a simple legally obligated way but I’ve been strung along hoping I would give up and disappear.
I’m not going anywhere Grays and if you wish for this story to remain private between company and customer, RESOLVE IT AS LEGALLY OBLIGATED TO!
Then I will disappear for good, never to be heard from again, if not this continue way into the future as publicly as possible.

Simple, easy to navigate site. Clear communication

Newly formed business here, thought I'd check your Auction house out, was left disappointed. You are all part of the same company, yet you charge high postage costs, a standard postage is $9.98 Australia wide yet for your team to only put a sticker and claim your transport team is delivering and charge $26.90 is absolutely unacceptable. Had I known it would have gone through Aus post I would have done it myself. As for that, your site did state you deliver to your partner warehouse in Chipping Norton and I am sure you have transport in between these sheds, why not have it taken to that warehouse for pick up? absolutely Highway robbery and i will not be going to Greys Auction for any future buys. I feel sorry to the poor old battler just wanting a cheap buy and being slugged with these extra costs.

Very disappointed, they failed to record that vehicle I bought had transmission issues and just brushed me off and basically told me it was my problem after they drove my car without my permission.

Very easy from bidding, to purchase, to collection. Staff at every stage were helpful. The item I purchased was priced very fairly., who thought in 2026 you could buy a car from the comfort of your bed?! I will definitely be using Grays again for future purchases.

Liked a lot about buying from auction. Seeing vehicles on view and able to check out vehicles when suits you.
Disappointed couldnt test drive wouldnt have been aware of computer fault which didnt pickup on starting in yard. Other minor faults made aware and budgeted accordingly. Price of purchase excellent and service from all staff AAA+++
