Open Source Scala Software Development Software

The Algorithm is Twitter’s open source release of the core ranking system that powers the platform’s home timeline. It provides transparency into how tweets are selected, prioritized, and surfaced to users, reflecting Twitter’s move toward openness in recommendation algorithms. The repository contains the recommendation pipeline, which incorporates signals such as engagement, relevance, and content features, and demonstrates how they combine to form ranked outputs. Written primarily in Scala, it shows the architecture of large-scale recommendation systems, including candidate sourcing, ranking, and heuristics. While certain components (such as safety layers, spam detection, or private data) are excluded, the release provides valuable insights into the design of real-world machine learning–driven ranking systems. The project is intended as a reference for researchers, developers, and the public to study, experiment with, and better understand the mechanisms behind social media content.

Kamon Telemetry is a set of libraries for instrumenting applications running on the JVM. With Kamon Telemetry you can collect metrics, propagate context across threads and services, and get distributed traces automatically. The best way to get started is by following our installation guides and taking it from there. Have fun with Kamon. Monitor your backend applications, fix performance issues, and get alerted when problems happen. All without being a monitoring expert. Everybody starts monitoring with logs because they are there by default. Just connect to your server and start tailing. But logs have a hard time showing you the overall response times for your application, or whether certain calls to the database are happening in sequence or parallel (among a million other things).

The Alpakka project is an open source initiative to implement stream-aware and reactive integration pipelines for Java and Scala. It is built on top of Akka Streams and has been designed from the ground up to understand streaming natively and provide a DSL for reactive and stream-oriented programming, with built-in support for backpressure. Akka Streams is a Reactive Stream and JDK 9+ java.util.concurrent.Flow-compliant implementation and therefore fully interoperable with other implementations. As Kafka’s client protocol negotiates the version to use with the Kafka broker, you may use a Kafka client version that is different than the Kafka broker’s version.

The opinionated microservices framework for moving away from the monolith. Lagom helps you decompose your legacy monolith and build, test, and deploy entire systems of Reactive microservices. Lagom is an open source framework for building systems of Reactive microservices in Java or Scala. Lagom builds on Akka and Play, proven technologies that are in production in some of the most demanding applications today. Lagom's integrated development environment allows you to focus on solving business problems instead of wiring services together. A single command builds the project, starts supporting components and your microservices, as well as the Lagom infrastructure. The build hot-reloads when it detects changes to source code.

DataNucleus provides Java data persistence to a range of datastores using JDO/JPA/REST APIs. *** Note that code development is no longer on SourceForge (code on SourceForge is for versions up to 3.3.5 only) ***

The asyncobjects framework is intendend for implementing event-driven network applications. It provides higher level API if compared with Java NIO. Initial code is based asyncobjects prototype from sebyla.sf.net project.

IMPORTANT: This project is no longer maintained. All the effort is targeted on project Radargun: http://radargun.sourceforge.net

Cane is a Data Manipulation Interface(DMI) based on code behaviour analysis. Cane enable developers manipulate data in the way close to natural logical. Developers can finish their job in one continuous operation supplied by Cane's chain operation

CoSEEEK is a framework that provides automated guidance for software developers during the development lifecycle. Its unique holistic approach amalgamates quality management, process management, context management, and knowledge management and can thus provide support attuned to the current project situation and the engineer’s context. One key goal of CoSEEEK was to develop techniques so that applicable guidance can be provided to an engineer (a CoSEEEK user) in an automated way based on their current context (context-awareness); taking into account what activities they have done and are likely to do based on their process workflow (process-orientation) using a workflow engine; current quality risks and issues for the project (quality management) are taken into account; and knowledge such as guidance is provisioned (e.g., providing checklist items).

Dream Machine Preservation Project is a project with the goal to create a software emulator for the Amiga computer on the Java Virtual Machine.

Erlang/Scala IDE based on NetBeans. With syntax checking, syntax highlighting, auto-completion, pretty formatter, occurrences mark, brace matching, indentation, code folding, function navigator, go to declaration, project management, shell console.

HiveMind is a browser based web development that combines an application container (jetty), a middleware and a developer environment that runs in the browser. It runs on the jvm so you are not limited by environment. You can run it on your laptop, company server or even on a cloud service like AWS. It supports Java, Ruby, Python, JavaScript, Groovy, Clojure. Source include so it is easy to hack so you can modify it for your own need.

Eclipse plug-ins that provide Prover IDE for Isabelle proof assistant, based on Isabelle/Scala framework. Isabelle/Eclipse started as a port of Isabelle/jEdit Prover IDE to integrate with Eclipse IDE as plug-ins. The integration uses common Eclipse components to provide theory editing, correct symbols, completion assistance, prover output and other features. By building on Eclipse it inherits various IDE goodies out of the box. This SourceForge project is used to distribute Isabelle/Eclipse files - the source code and issue management is available on GitHub: http://github.com/andriusvelykis/isabelle-eclipse Visit Isabelle/Eclipse website at http://andriusvelykis.github.com/isabelle-eclipse
