As John mentioned, I got very busy over the last few years and simply have not had the time to develop Mobility Email. That being said, ME based off Thunderbird 2.x is a relatively stable and functional communication solution. Changes in TB 3 and newer versions of Enigmail would make it harder to create as stable a compilation. Anyway, there were always inherent limits to the security offered by ME. These include: (1) Limits to how secure the large TB code base can be understood to be (2) The potential to introduce flaws through our mobile loading system for ME (3) Our inability to wipe the memory of public machines where ME was used We did our best with making things as small, as light and as protected as possible. But I always felt that if we wanted to get a generational leap we really would need to do two things: (1) Stop using a nasty hack to load a mobile version of the Mozilla codebase (2) Stop using the Mozilla codebase We probably need something with a much smaller and more audited footprint, and much tighter memory control, if ME would take a step forward in security. Would I like to do that? Sure. Do I have time? Nope. I have not even had time to work on ME based off TB 2.x since 2006. That being said, a team effort could work out. First steps would be to find an encryption engine (gpg 1.x?) and a cross-platform emailing engine (Sendmail/IndigoMail?) and a lightweight way to read/compose/send messages using these two tools that does not require any special environment variables (a Java application?). |

The news code is unchanged from Mozilla's TB source code, so that must
be a bit flaky on the 1.5 code base.
As John said, I'm working on a TB 3.0 code base release of Mobility but
it's been delayed due to a combination of factors. One is that the
compile process keeps choking on my machine. Another is that my work
has been absolutely insane for the last eight months.
You should be able to migrate a Seamonkey profile to Mobility without
problems. Just make sure to back up everything first. All that should
be needed is to copy the Seamonkey profile files into to the Mobility
profile folder.

Next, open the Addons menu, and select "Options" under the Hotmail extension. Change the method to "Web-Dav" and close the dialog box. This should make it work for you. If you need any more help, don't hesitate to post back to the list. Regards, Adam |

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA512 Some may be wondering why Mobility hasn't Released another build since 1.4.8 was Officially released. The answer is simple; the Mobility release of 2 weeks ago /is/ 1.4.8 Official + the Mobility features. In the Mobility Release both Camellia 128 & 256 have been enabled. Camellia is an encryption algorithm. The notation for each is S11 & S12 respectively. Notice the change from what was in the build prior to this release.......only Camellia 256 which was labeled S11. Now, S11 is the label for Camellia 128 & S12 has been added for Camellia 256. I have received inquiries about a 'Manual' for the Mobility Release. I have Uploaded the 1.4.8 Manual in .pdf format to the e-ignite site. I shall also attach a copy to this missive but SourceForge servers may strip the attachment. :( Don't hesitate to contact Me direct should You desire the Manual be shipped direct to You. It is only 113KB in size so can be easily sent upon request.
