Hundreds of financial advisers joined us along the way, making for some brilliant conversations and moments of reflection. Brilliant to have Cowry's Krisztian Komandi as part of this talk, discussing the role that Behavioural Science can play in the AI adoption space, the difference between decision-making and sense making in AI use, and the rarely discussed benefits of additional friction. Thanks to all who attended! #BehaviouralScience #Consulting #AI
“Everybody talks about AI being transformative but our mission of helping people make better financial decisions hasn’t changed, so AI has to be reviewed in the context of how it's supporting us achieve that. We're early adopters with Freya for our retail and now our workplace investors, but the thing we've kept clear is that when a person is interacting with an AI agent or workflow, they're still viewing it through the lens of 'this is coming from my pension provider'. The trust that people put in us as a provider is the foundation for helping them make big decisions, so while the scope for AI is enormous, it's also clear that the value of human conversations with empathy, judgement and sensitivity is actually going to increase in prominence. We're already seeing that come through with our advisers and financial coaches.” Fidelity’s Eoin McCann on The Financial Services Forum panel discussion on how AI is developing in financial services and who owns the conversation. Joined by Liz Wolstenholme, Robert Cochran, Krisztian Komandi and Alistair Welham, the session highlighted the gap between AI adoption and trust in its outputs, and what needs to happen to support better outcomes at scale.

Tax changes are making the financial landscape more complex. But this complexity isn’t just a technical challenge, it’s a behavioural one too. We’re delighted to see our work with AJ Bell come to life as part of The Great Wrapper Reset campaign. As changes to the tax landscape create new considerations for advice professionals, familiar approaches to wrappers may need a rethink. The challenge isn’t just understanding what’s changed, but helping advisers, paraplanners and their clients navigate complexity and make confident decisions. Working with the AJ Bell team, Cowry brought a behavioural science lens to the campaign, helping to optimise and bring the following to life: 🧠 The Wrapper Reset Guide - applying behavioural science to research from Technical Connection to make the findings engaging, accessible and practical for advisers and paraplanners 📚 Technical case studies - helping bring the implications of the changes to life through realistic planning scenarios 💡 Behavioural science top tips - highlighting the human factors that can influence how clients respond to complexity, uncertainty and change, and support better conversations And the work doesn’t stop there. From 7 - 22 September, our very own Mallika Bhaskar will be joining the Great Wrapper Reset Tour across all 10 events, sharing insights into how people really make decisions, alongside practical behavioural science tips for more effective client conversations. It’s been a pleasure bringing our behavioural expertise to AJ Bell’s thought-leading campaign and helping create resources that are genuinely useful for advice professionals navigating this evolving landscape. A big thank you to the AJ Bell team (Helen Lloyd-McKinnon, Jeremy Mugridge, Ian Browne) for trusting us to be part of The Great Wrapper Reset. 🔗 Explore the campaign and resources here: https://lnkd.in/ec_ujiX5 🔗 Explore the Great Wrapper Reset tour here: https://lnkd.in/eEA9d-CR AJ Bell Investcentre #BehaviouralScience #FinancialServices #FinancialPlanning #AppliedBeSci #CustomerExperience #FeelGoodAdvising #TheGreatWrapperReset

Last week we welcomed Joanna S. onboard at Cowry, joining our Neurodesign pathway as a Senior Behavioural Designer! 👋 Since completing a Master's in the Psychology of Advertising, Joanna has worked in behavioural science, helping organisations turn insights into practical and effective solutions. She has experience with clients in the private, public and third sectors, tackling a wide range of challenges including designing multi-sensory experiences, influencing professional decision-making and supporting financially vulnerable customers; alongside upskilling teams to practically apply behavioural science. As a lifelong artist, Joanna is interested in the intersection of behavioural science and creativity, which led her to Cowry & Neurodesign. She combines these skills with her deep understanding of behavioural insights to create solutions that not only look good, but are designed with people in mind. Welcome to Cowry Joanna! 🧠 #behaviouralscience #neurodesign #behaviouraldesign

Cowry Consulting reposted this
🧠 Consciousness, conscientiousness, and courage are all defining human qualities - and they show up most in the moments when we fall short of them. 🧐 But AI doesn't have the capacity to fall short of any of these - so how can it match and support us in such complex decisions as our finances? 👉 We'll be covering such and other pertinent questions of governance, consistency and trust in connection to financial services and AI at a panel event next Thursday organised by the The Financial Services Forum (thanks for the invitation!) at AML Group. Really looking forward to a lively discussion with Liz Wolstenholme, Alistair Welham, Eoin McCann and Robert Cochran! If you are an FSF member, find the link to register in the comment 👇

We're really pleased to have welcomed Will Davies to Cowry earlier this month, joining as a Senior Behavioural Architect 👏 Will brings 3+ years of experience as a strategy consultant, having recently graduated with a distinction in a Psychology MSc. Will’s previous consulting work involved supporting tech and finance clients with AI-focused growth strategy, leading projects that involved extensive primary research with consumer surveys and interviews, and designing high-impact behavioural interventions. Outside of work, Will spends his time playing sports and obsessing about how he can boost his own productivity and wellbeing through psychology. Welcome to the team Will! 🧠 #BehaviouralScience #Consulting #Psychology

Earlier this month we launched an offshoot of the Cowry Summer School for the first time. Cowry Summer School: Launchpad 🚀 is for sixth-form students with a background in psychology or a demonstrable interest in human behaviour. It's designed to give young people real, hands-on experience in behavioural science, applied psychology, and consulting. We're so pleased to have just wrapped up our inaugural cohort, partnering with London Academy of Excellence Tottenham. We were joined by 7 brilliant scholars: Samuel, Mante, Ubah, Malikai, Charlie, Joshua, and Mohammod 👏 Over the course of the week, our Launchpad Lead Abdulquadri Odeshina immersed the group in the world of #BehaviouralScience consulting through workshops, talks, & networking sessions. A huge thank you to our incredible Cowry facilitators, with sessions across Behavioural Architecture, Neurodesign, Experimental Design, Behavioural Research & Data Science, alongside personas, presenting & creative problem solving. The scholars rounded things off by delivering a brief centred around redesigning a Wagamama's menu 🍛 They implemented a strategy to acquire new Soul Club members and increase the perceived value of both membership and the live kids promo. In our ongoing effort to democratise behavioural science, we're already looking ahead to the next Launchpad series in Summer 2027 - watch this space! 🧠 #SummerSchool #YoungPeople #Consulting #EarlyTalent
