We love to evaluate the impact of our behaviour and culture change interventions with experiments. Here are four ingredients you need to make it happen: ➡️ Impactful: you predict your intervention will have real value. ➡️ Feasible: you can pilot it with some employees, but not all (ideally via random allocation). ➡️ Scalable: it can reach 100s, preferably 1000s of people. ➡️ Measurable: you can accurately track your outcomes. Ticking these boxes doesn’t always mean an experiment is appropriate, but it does offer a unique opportunity to generate causal evidence about your impact. It's why we love working on data-rich, company-wide people processes like hiring, talent & performance, and everyday experiences like meetings, 121s, feedback conversations & project reviews.

  • For anyone interested in behaviour change, you cannot miss this brilliant research review that has just been published by Jan Voelkel, Katy Milkman and Angela Duckworth. It’s a review of high-quality research studies (field-RCTs with objective behavioural outcomes) to find strategies that have proven to work to change people’s behaviours. At MoreThanNow, we run rigorous workplace experiments to help organisations identify what actually drives the behaviour change they need. This paper stands out to us because it shares that commitment to evidence, focusing on interventions that produced real behaviour change through randomised controlled trials with objective behavioural measures. The paper is also an amazing source of inspiration for organisations seeking to put behaviour change into practice. Drawing on studies from several disciplines, the authors organise behaviour change into three stages: motivation, follow-through and habit formation, each with ample examples on how to address each stage. Many congratulations to the authors for such a brilliant paper. Read it here: https://lnkd.in/ecwNxGF4 #behaviouralscience #organisations #experimentation
