GEORGIA MATCH is for current Georgia high school seniors. You were selected because your high school provided a transcript to GAfutures that indicates you are a senior.
Many of Georgia’s public colleges and universities offer admissions based solely on your academic record. The institutions on your Dashboard were selected based on your underclass HOPE GPA that was calculated from your high school transcript data submitted to GAfutures after your 11th grade year.
A senior may not have received a letter in October because the most recent transcript record submitted electronically and securely by your high school did not include a deliverable address, a calculated HOPE GPA, or the student’s SSN for verification of identity. Correcting your information with your high school will help when you need your final high school transcript to be sent to a college. Notes: 1) You must be a senior at one of Georgia’s public or private accredited high schools that works with GAfutures. 2) If the letter was mailed to your old address, the letter will not be mailed again. Use your GAfutures Dashboard to proceed with requesting college information and to claim your spot.
GEORGIA MATCH only allows students to “Claim Your Spot” at 3 institutions. You can “Request Information” for as many schools on your list as you like. If you have already clicked “Claim Your Spot” for 3 schools you can always apply for admission with a different college through the GAfutures > College Planning > College Search feature.
GEORGIA MATCH can only hold your spot for the Fall semester after your high school graduation. Should you want to take a year off you will need to apply directly to the college you wish to attend when you are ready. Visit GAfutures > College Planning > College Search. It includes all of Georgia’s colleges and universities and links to apply.

Test Score Requirement
- A qualifying test score is based on your high school type and if you are seeking HOPE Scholarship or Zell Miller Scholarship academic eligibility.
- Qualifying test scores must be earned on a single test. Super scoring is not allowed.
- Students must earn the qualifying test score prior to their high school graduation, home study completion, or high school equivalency date.
- The equivalent ACT composite score is based on the most recent concordance guide published by the College Board and ACT. The equivalent is posted by January 15 each year for the upcoming graduating class of the calendar year.
- All Georgia public high schools are eligible high schools. Most Georgia private high schools are eligible high schools. If you attend a private high school, home study program or out of state high school, visit the Initial Academic Eligibility page to see if your high school qualifies as an eligible high school.
How to Submit Test Scores
- Only test scores that meet the minimum score requirement should be submitted.
- To submit a qualifying ACT score: Visit ACT.org and enter GSFC’s recipient code: 2225. It will be sent electronically to GSFC and updated to your GAfutures account.
- To submit a qualifying SAT score: Use the Student Document Upload feature on your GAfutures account.
- Once you submit a qualifying score, you do not need to submit additional scores.

Notice: Federal Student Aid has delayed the transmission of the 2024-2025 FAFSA application data. Once GSFC begins to receive the data it will appear here on your dashboard. To receive federal financial aid, you must complete a FAFSA each academic year. The FAFSA is available starting October 1 for the upcoming academic year. The FAFSA is used for all financial aid including private and institutional aid that may be available. The earlier you submit your FAFSA, the more opportunity you have to apply for additional aid to help pay for your college. The FAFSA can be used to apply for HOPE and Zell Miller Scholarship and Grant; however, you must complete it each year of college. After completing your FAFSA, check your college portal and email account for any information your Financial Aid Office may need from you to determine your awards. Georgia state law requires a Selective Service registration for required males to qualify for Georgia’s state aid programs which includes HOPE and Zell Miller Scholarship and Grant. Basic SAL Application Information for SAL Applicants:

After you submit your SAL application, GSFC will review it for application errors.
- If there is an error with your application, you need to contact GSFC Loan Dept.
- If your application is acceptable, it will be electronically sent to your college (listed on your SAL application) overnight for the Financial Aid Office to determine your eligibility and your eligible amount by certifying the application.

Your college’s financial aid office must determine your eligibility by certifying or denying your application. The amount of time to certify or deny depends if you have submitted all required documents to them and the volume of work.
- If the college does not certify your application, you would need to contact your Financial Aid Office for information.
- If your college declines your application, you may check with your Financial Aid Office to find out the reason. The college determines if you are eligible to receive the SAL.

After an application is certified by the college, the student is emailed (sent to email address on the SAL application) within a couple of hours with a link to the secure electronic Promissory Note. It must be completed within 5 days.
- If not completed in 5 days, a new secure email with a new link is sent until day 25. If still not completed, the application is canceled.

After a student completes the Promissory Note, it is sent to GSFC Loan Dept. where it is reviewed for accuracy and then the loan is approved. On average, the review time is 5 to 7 business days.
- If the student does not complete the Promissory Note correctly an email is sent.
- Once the Promissory Note is reviewed and approved, the loan is originated and then the first term disbursement can be made to the college for the student’s account.
