America’s manufacturing workforce doesn’t build itself. Foundries need skilled employees today—and a strong pipeline of future workers ready to build careers in metalcasting. That’s why NFFS is joining the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) in urging Congress to support CTE and workforce development funding for FY 2027. The impact is real. CTE helps expose students to manufacturing earlier, build industry-relevant skills and connect employers with better-prepared candidates who are more likely to stay. Our latest blog explains why this funding matters to foundries—and how NFFS members and their employees can help: https://lnkd.in/eXkhhHEc Read the blog. Then take action. Contact Congress and make sure the voice of metalcasting is heard. #NFFS #MetalCasting #Manufacturing #WorkforceDevelopment #CTE #SkilledWorkforce #AmericanManufacturing Bill Padnos Erin B. This Labor Day, NFFS is recognizing the skilled workers who keep our foundries—and American manufacturing—moving. Behind every casting is someone who prepared the mold, poured the metal, inspected the part, maintained the equipment, solved the problem or simply stayed a little longer to get the job done. Their work deserves recognition on Labor Day, and every day. Read our latest blog as we celebrate the people behind the castings and the essential role they play in keeping America running: https://lnkd.in/eNE_DmzK #LaborDay #NFFS #MetalCasting #FoundryIndustry #AmericanManufacturing #ManufacturingWorkforce Jerrod Weaver Bill Padnos Brianna Gianti Erin B. UA Local 81 was featured in a USA Today story highlighting how Micron's $100 billion megafab project in Central New York is expanding union membership and transforming the regional workforce. Business Manager Marcus Williamee notes the surging interest in skilled trade careers: "We've had to say no a lot of times, and now we can say yes to everybody who is ready to join the skilled trades." Every major manufacturing investment begins with a series of questions. ➡️ Can production scale? Can materials move efficiently? Is reliable power available? Is the workforce ready? The answers to these questions shape every site selection decision, and ultimately determine whether a project moves from planning to production. At AE Shoals, our Barton Campus was built to answer those questions with purpose. From multimodal transportation access and industrial-scale infrastructure, to workforce development and room for future expansion - we’ve created a platform designed to support long term manufacturing growth. Capability isn’t just part of the conversation: it drives it. America needs 1,000x more factories. 🇺🇸⚙️ Building the next era of American manufacturing takes a unique mix of talent. And despite what you hear, there’s no shortage of hungry, skilled young workers out there—just a shortage of companies willing to train them. So find something you are proud of and physically put your name on it. Time to REINDUSTRIALIZE! NOX METALS (SendCutSend and I made the stencils for the spray paint too!)

North Texas plants are winning orders faster than they can hire. The Dallas Fed's August survey put new orders at 22.0 while the employment index slipped to 8.0 — growth without the hands to do the work. I wrote up eight ways manufacturers are using video to attack both ends of that gap. The one most crews miss: OSHA requires safety training in a language and vocabulary employees actually understand, which quietly turns bilingual SOP video into a compliance instrument rather than a nice-to-have. The piece includes our Alfa Laval factory tour as an example of the standard we shoot to on a live industrial floor. https://lnkd.in/gpQexGRP #Manufacturing #VideoProduction #DFW
