Coat drive to help neighbors in need this winter
Mather team members were generous with donations of gently used coats to help our neighbors in need this winter, according to Cathy Roster, LMSW, senior manager of the Social Work Department.
The December Coat Drive yielded 90 coats, a dozen scarves, a bag of clothes and pajamas, and two pair of snow boots, Roster said.
All the items will be donated to St. Frances Cabrini RC Church in Coram and Christ Church United Methodist in Port Jefferson Station.
The coat drive followed our Thanksgiving Food Drive, for which we collected 635 food items. Those were divided equally between St Frances Cabrini, Christ Church, and St. Gerard Majella in Port Jefferson Station.
