This year’s honoree for Mather Hospital’s Golf Classic is a man who, like the hospital’s founder and namesake, has a strong connection to sailing, Port Jefferson, and giving back to his community.

Jeffrey William Hausner is a longtime member of the Port Jefferson Yacht Club and has served on the club’s foundation board since its inception in 2010. Through the club’s annual Village Cup Regatta, a friendly competition between Mather Hospital and the Village of Port Jefferson, he has helped raise more than $850,000 for the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research and Mather Hospital’s Palliative Care Program.

Jeff is an avid sailor and served as Commodore of the Yacht Club, as his father did in 1986. He and his fiancé, Chrissy, are proud to be part of this community and he’s always happy to share his love of sailing with others.

In his professional life, Jeff has a background in both the landscaping and electronics industries. He has honed his skills and developed a strong work ethic that he has brought to his role at INTELLI-TEC Security Services, LLC. Under his leadership, the company has become one of the largest security integrators in the tri-state area, serving clients in diverse markets including healthcare, higher education, and high-end residential communities.

He also has a deep connection to Mather Hospital. His grandmother logged more than 18,000 volunteer hours working at the front desk, his sister served as a pharmacist from 1992-1996, and his goddaughter is a proud member of the nursing staff.

With a Bachelor of Science in Finance from NYU Stern School of Business, Jeff is an accomplished individual with a root passion for giving back to his community. When he’s not working or organizing charitable events, Jeff enjoys golfing with his friend Steve, sailing and spending time with his blended family, including his son Jeff Jr. and his wife Rebecca, his daughter U.S. Navy Lt. Dr., Jacqueline, his fiancé Chrissy’s sons, Anthony and Jake, his grandchildren Reagan and Harrison, and of course his mother Sally.
