Ready to walk for a cause? Join the Northwell Health Walk at Port Jefferson on Sunday, May 22. This Walk (formerly the Families Walk for Hope) is very special this year because we will be walking for one of our own.
Kathy Fusaro from Accounts Payable has graciously allowed us to dedicate this year’s Walk to her. Kathy has stage 4 breast cancer, yet she comes to work at Mather every day as she has since she was a teenager! Those of you who know Kathy know she has participated in many Mather Hospital Walks. Whether she is walking with her boys or volunteering at the walk registration area, Kathy is always there to help raise money and awareness for breast cancer.
This year’s Walk is also an ACTUAL walk – not virtual – a time to come together outdoors with family, friends and team members and enjoy a five-mile walk through the scenic beauty of Port Jefferson and Belle Terre villages.
The Walk is a fundraiser for the Fortunato Breast Health Center and also serves to raise awareness of the need for regular breast cancer screenings starting at age 40.
