Let’s raise our health and well-being to a new level! Dust off your sneakers and get ready for some surf, sand and fun in the 2021 step challenge, Walk to the Caribbean!
Walk to the Caribbean is a six-week, team-based challenge available to all employees of all fitness levels. A team will consist of six team members and complete a virtual journey of two million steps, exploring the tropical islands of the region. The more steps your team takes, the more destinations, tips and recipes you unlock. All members of teams of six who reach the final Caribbean destination will be entered into a raffle to win a cash prize of $5,000 each. Last year, one of our Mather teams, Coding – A Walk in the Park, was a winning team with each team member receiving $5,000. The 2021 walk grand prize raffle drawing event will be a virtual event. Stay tuned for the date and details.
Please note there are several important points about this year’s step challenge for Mather team members:
1. Virgin Pulse accounts: Mather team members must create a new Virgin Pulse account on the app or at northwell.edu/myWellness . If you have issues creating your account, please contact myWellness@northwell.edu.
2. Challenge timeline: Registration is open through October 3 and the challenge will run from October 4 – November 14.
3. Points: While you’ll see points accrue by using the Virgin Pulse app, the reward points are not applicable to Mather employees this year as we are not yet on all of Northwell’s platforms. It’s about team work and an opportunity to jumpstart your personal wellness journey, because when we raise what health should be, we raise everyone.
