Mather Hospital received five North Star 90 Awards for patient satisfaction

Three Mather Hospital patient care units and two departments received awards from Northwell Health for achieving top patient satisfaction scores in 2021.

The North Star 90 Awards are presented each year to individual nursing units, facilities and physician practices within Northwell Health performing in the 90th percentile nationwide for patient satisfaction for the prior year.

The Mather Hospital awards were:

• North Star 90 Hospital Award — Emergency Department – Awarded to hospitals that achieved the 90th percentile nationally in patient experience in 2021

–  Emergency Department

• North Star 90 Unit Award — Awarded to hospital units that achieved the 90th percentile nationally in patient experience in 2021, based on HCAHPS ‘Recommend the Hospital’
  –  3 North
  –  2 East Bariatrics / Telemetry

• North Star 90 Specialty Award — Awarded to the hospitals who are in the 90th percentile for a specific patient experience domain in 2021

–  Nursing Department – “Communication with Nurses”, based on HCAHPS survey.
–  Environmental Services – “Cleanliness”, based on HCAHPS survey.
