Mather’s Graduate Medical Residency (GME) Program was established in 2014 to address a growing shortage of physicians in our community and an increasing demand for primary care physicians. As a community teaching hospital, the program offers an educational experience in medical training to provide residents with a solid foundation in their program. Mather currently offers residencies in internal medicine, integrated interventional radiology, diagnostic radiology, psychiatry, and transitional year, as well as fellowships in gastroenterology and hematology/oncology.

“We could not have been more pleased with the results of this year’s fellowship match.  All 15 of our residents who applied for fellowship positions matched to excellent programs. This is a credit to the extremely hard work of these residents over the past three years.  We also see this success as a sign that the residency programs at Mather are being recognized nationally for our excellence in medical, psychiatric and radiology training.  I am grateful for everyone at Mather who has supported our young physician,” said Dr. Robert Giacobbe, Program Director of Internal Medicine Residency.
