Mather Hospital Auxiliary Thrift Shop receives New York State Senate Empire Award

Mather Hospital’s Auxiliary Thrift Shop received the New York State Senate 2022 Empire Award in recognition of its 50th anniversary and support of the hospital.

The award, which recognizes New Yorkers who have contributed significantly to their communities, was presented by State. Sen. Anthony Palumbo (pictured right).

Receiving the award were (left to right) Keri Dunne, Director of Volunteer Services, and Auxiliary Volunteers Carol Ann Ebert, Auxiliary President Barbara Zinna, Janice Krass, and Jeanne Danowski.

The Thrift Shop is the Mather Auxiliary’s biggest fundraiser. Together with funds earned through the Gift Shop, Calendar Raffles, plant and flower sales, and other fundraisers, the Auxiliary each year presents a check to the hospital to support building expansions, patient unit renovations, the purchase of new equipment, and support of individual departments.
