Mather Hospital is using ultraviolet radiation in its fight against the COVID-19 virus and other pathogens. We have two units that are being used 24/7 to disinfect patient rooms, the Emergency Department and areas throughout the hospital.
Mather currently has four Proning Teams that work to turn critically ill patients onto their stomachs to facilitate oxygenation. “It takes a village to care for these special patients, and we are made for this!” said director of Surgical Services Karen Tuzzolo, RN.
The actions and gestures from our community in support of the Mather family during this pandemic has been exceptional. Our staff says “this is a great example of getting through this crisis together.”
Patients who cannot have visitors due to the COVID-19 pandemic can now connect to both their families and their caregivers via electronic devices.
