How updates work
BoldCreate checks for a new version automatically, a few seconds after you open it. It never installs an update without asking you first.
When a new version is ready:
- An Update button appears at the bottom of the sidebar, above your profile icon.
- In the menu bar, the Help menu shows Restart to Update (
{version}).
Install an update
- Finish or stop any task that is running on your computer.
- Click the Update button at the bottom of the sidebar, above your profile icon. Or, from the menu bar, choose Help > Restart to Update (
{version}). - The button shows Updating… while BoldCreate downloads and installs the new version.
- BoldCreate restarts on its own with the new version.
Your tasks, folders, and settings are kept, and you stay signed in.
Note: Restarting stops any task that is running on your computer. Cloud tasks keep running on BoldCreate’s servers.
Tip: Not ready to update? Keep working. The Update button stays there until you’re ready.
Check for updates yourself
- From the menu bar, choose Help > Check for Updates….
- BoldCreate tells you what it found:
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
Update available – “Bold Create {version} is available.” | Click Restart to Update to install it now, or Later to install it another time. |
| “You’re running the latest version.” | Nothing. You’re up to date. |
| “Could not check for updates: …” | Check your internet connection and try again. |
| “Could not install the update: …” | Check your internet connection, then click Update again. The update stays available so you can retry. |
Find your version
- macOS: choose Bold Create > About in the menu bar.
- Windows: choose Help > About in the menu bar.
The About window shows the version number, for example, [VERSION].

Remove your BoldCreate data (optional)
Uninstalling leaves your BoldCreate data on your computer, in case you install it again. This data includes your saved sign-in, your list of folders, and the history of your tasks on this computer.
To remove it completely, delete this folder after uninstalling:
| System | Folder to delete |
|---|---|
| macOS | ~/Library/Application Support/com.syncfusion.boldcreate |
| Windows | %APPDATA%\com.syncfusion.boldcreate |
Tip: On macOS, open Finder, choose Go > Go to Folder…, and paste the folder location. On Windows, paste the location into the File Explorer address bar and press Enter.
Note: Deleting this folder permanently removes the history of your tasks on this computer. It can’t be undone. Your project files are not affected.
