News

Ahead of the autumn term, the project AI for Everyone is launching a course aimed at students, entitled AI Essentials: A Student Module, which lecturers can import into their course in Canvas. The module provides students with foundational knowledge of generative AI, a critical approach to the technology, and guidance on how it can be used ethically and to support their own learning.

The primary audience is new students, although the module is also suitable for students who are already partway through their studies. It is structured as an assignment in Canvas, which gives lecturers the opportunity to monitor which students have completed it. The module is available in both Swedish and English and was released ahead of the start of the autumn term, during week 33.

If you have any questions, please contact Maria Nilsson, project manager for AI for all.

The Project's AI Initiatives

The project is developing AI solutions as pilots in response to institutional needs and requirements. The ongoing initiatives are described below.

Topdesk Agent
An AI agent integrated into the ticketing system (Topdesk) that monitors an inbox. The agent automates spam management, routing, and responses (for certain cases) of incoming tickets to reduce processing times.

Course Evaluation Agent
An automated AI solution that creates a draft response for a course evaluation summary based on course evaluations, which the teacher then refines.

StudentAgent
An AI solution seamlessly integrated into Canvas that acts as an educational support for students 24/7, directly in the learning platform.

Course Development Agent
An AI agent that reviews and evaluates course material based on established standards and regulations, ensures consistency, content, and accessibility, and offers concrete improvement suggestions.

HR Agent
An AI agent that answers common HR-related questions from employees, with an initial focus on recruitment processes and promotion issues, to reduce the work related strain on the HR department.

If you have any questions, please contact Markus Lamm, AI Developer for AI for all.

About the project

Running from spring 2025 through autumn 2026, the project aims to set a clear direction, boost competence in generative AI, and jointly plan and develop programmes to remain relevant. Among other things, it will produce an AI policy complete with guidelines. Every university employee will receive professional development via self-study courses and workshops totalling roughly four afternoons. During spring 2026, the teams will begin planning their organisational development.

The project has assigned 3-5 people in each department/unit to drive organisational development, lead workshops and seminars, and participate in a university-wide network.

The project has also hired an AI developer who, based on requests from the organisation, designs and carries out pilot projects to test AI solutions on a smaller scale.

Do you have a need or would you like to discuss an idea? Please feel free to contact us at ai@hv.se or get in touch with the project manager Maria Nilsson or the AI developer Markus Lamm.
